AN-124

The Antonov AN-124, nicknamed “Ruslan” (NATO code: Condor), is a heavy strategic transport aircraft designed by the Antonov design bureau in Ukraine. It made its maiden flight on 24 December 1982 and entered service in 1986. The AN-124 has two cargo doors: one at the front, with the nose of the aircraft raised to facilitate loading, and one at the rear. It also has two internal cranes, each capable of lifting up to 20 tonnes, making it easier to handle heavy loads. The AN-124 is a key player in the airlift of heavy loads, thanks to its exceptional capacity and versatility.
